Turkey Day 2023

This actually was taken across the street from Whole Foods outside of Morton’s Steakhouse. Too many people acting antsy at the sight of a tripod!

Uh…hi. How are you? My name is Johnny and this is my first ever real blog post. You know…one with current pictures and fresh dialogue and stuff. And yeah, I’m just now getting into this in my 50s, but…here goes. So Turkey Day, 2023. Not a bad day, actually. Started off as a real pain in the πŸ‘πŸ‘. Me and my friends (My friends and I. Sorry, Mother!) were getting together for a little Friendsgiving. And then my one friend came down with the flu, which totally put the kibosh on our plans to go hiking. And this is after I spent about $150 on a dinner from Whole Foods and Ralph’s!

Nice little turn-up for Thanksgiving, huh? All the fixins plus a little Mango Jose!

But it ended up being OK. I dragged out the ol’ Holiday Sweater and my tan sarong (which so needs to be ironed, BTW! 😠😠) and headed on over to Whole Foods. The lines at were pretty short, actually, unlike the last time we got dinner there during the Pandemic back in 2020, when people were lined up shoulder-to-shoulder like it was the Day After or something! When I got home, my other friend showed up and he and I just stayed local to burn a few calories before dinner. That’s the one benefit of living next to a park…you can always get in a good workout as long as you’re willing to hurdle a few junkies! πŸ’‰πŸ’‰

This is at a structure called “Blocks on Blocks: Putter and Two Balls” from Fletcher Benton.

Like I said, it was a pretty chill day. The three of us sat and watched not one, but THREE holiday movies. Well…two-and-a-half: It’s a Wonderful Life, Love Actually and the last 1/3 of Home Alone. It’s a Wonderful Life is the absolute G.O.A.T. of holiday movies, BTW! Both of my friends were in tears.

No tears here, tho. Just good vibes all around, My Ninja!

We didn’t eat 1/4 of all the food we bought. But it wouldn’t be Thanksgiving without a buncha leftovers, right?

Overall, it was a pretty successful day. And there’s not much more I can say. Thanksgiving is about getting together with the people you love and being thankful for the things you have. One of the thangs (see what I did there!) I’m thankful for is this blog, which has finally gotten off the ground. And hey, look at that! I just completed my first ever post. C ‘ya!

Luv, Peace and πŸ‘‘πŸ‘‘πŸ‘‘, Johnny
